Lactation accommodation requirements in the workplace are expanding far beyond the federal requirements, to reach even small business, due to a patchwork of new state and local laws.
For example, NYC Mayor de Blasio is expected to sign legislation soon that will require employers with as few as four employees to provide separate lactation rooms to nursing mothers.
It’s critical that all tri-state business owners monitor this rapidly changing area of law, to ensure compliance & avoid surprisingly stiff fines.
